Delegate Warren Miller

Posted by David Keelan on Sunday, March 19, 2006

Delegate Warren Miller, Howard County District 9A, will be the only GOP member of a joint General Assembly and Executive branch committee to review and resolve the pending 72% rate increases to be imposed by BGE in July.

Delegate Miller is recently quoted in a David Nitkin hatchet article about emails between a Pepco lobbyist and PSC Commissioner Ken Schisler

Del. Warren E. Miller, a Howard County Republican who sits on a committee that oversees utilities, said the electronic conversations between lobbyist and regulator were appropriate, and he rejected Frosh's call for resignation.

Frosh is asking for a more distant relationship than state law requires, Miller said. "You are regulating an industry. Of course you have a dialogue," Miller said. "It doesn't mean he is in the pocket of the industry."

The full article can be found here.

Curiously Mr. Nitkin didn't reveal any email exchanges that may have taken place between Mr. Schiler or enviromentalist groups.

At the center of the issue are these email exchanges. Which really show nothing except a relationship between the lobbyist and the commissioner. I don't see a smoking gun. Does the relationship seem too cozy. You'll have to decide for yourself. I won't render an opinion because I think they are too easily taken out of context. One moment, or one email exchange does not define a person.

The spin on this is so out of hand it is laughable. LAUGHABLE.

Again, the Governor will find a solution.

As to Delegate Miller, he will be an asset to the committee. He is a fair minded, level headed, and well respected individual. We are in capable hands.
