MD: Political News Round Up

The Baltimore Examiner has an article on more troubles for Martin O’Malley’s Baltimore City Police Department in today’s Baltimore Sun. In a desperate attempt to boost arrest numbers, an arrest quota system is alleged as being implemented.

The Baltimore Sun also has more on Martin O’Malley running ads in Baltimore City. He is tr ignoring the fact that his lawsuit, at the moment, will end up costing ratepayers more money since the compromise plan hashed out by Ehrlich was struck down by the courts. Instead, the original deal with BGE is now in effect and will actually drain more money out of people’s pockets. Duncan’s campaign people claim it shows O’Malley in trouble if he has to run ads in Baltimore City.

The Washington Times reports the moves by the Democratic Legislature on Wal-Mart and O’Malley’s lawsuit on BGE are making businesses think twice about coming to Maryland. Can you blame them?
