Keelan for Howard County Republican Central Committe

Posted by David Keelan on Monday, July 3, 2006

Well, I made it official.  I am running for Central Committee.

Why I am doing this is because I think that like most organizations not everyone on the current committee is active.  They may have started with the best of intentions, but some where along the way they disappeared.

If we want a strong two party system in Howard County we need an active GOP Central Committees.

Where should we spend our money and time?  Local Howard County politics and candidates.  God bless Bob Ehrlich and I will do what I can for him, but he has something like $35M in the bank and a lot of help already.  Our local candidates are the ones I want to focus on.  Who is going to be the next GOP candidate for Governor and after that and after that?  They come from up within the party.  I want to identify those individuals who can serve in that capacity or a lesser capacity.

Recruitment through our grass roots organizations by identifying high quality leaders who are willing to make the necessary sacrifice of time and effort to serve in part time positions.  That is a long term goal.

Short term goals are to assist Chris Merdon, our council candidates, state candidates, Bob Ehrlich, and Michael Steele.  In that order and right now.  This is an election year and one of the most important in recent memory.
