Site Changes

Posted by David Keelan on Tuesday, October 24, 2006

As you can tell I made a few changes.

On the left side you will find links to anything related to this blog starting with most popular blogs and finishing with categories.

On the right side you will find links to external sites starting with photos of Howard County (as I find them in the public domain), other blogs, news sites related to the county.

On top you will find seperate blog pages.  The blogger forum, disclaimer, elected officials, my resume, and a list of current links to this blog.

You can comment on the changes and make additional recommendations here.

This isn’t a new change, but I have been meaning to ask about this. Under the “General” heading where you list candidates that you support, why do Bates and Miller have a fancy hyperlink whereas everyone else has a plain blue link? I think the Bates and Miller link is distracting.

    Freemarket,
They are the only campaign website that offers a link to a thumbnail image. None of the other sites do.
Given the day and age that surprises me. You might not agree with Bates/Miller but at least they get the technology.

BTW: Merdon has a thumbnail image, but it is still slightly too large and throws off the formating of the blog.

  3. David,

One suggestion, can you switch the positions of “Recent Posts” and “Recent Comments” on the left-hand side. That way I don’t have to scroll down to see if there are any new comments.

I like that feature and will ad it to my site once I have the chance.

  4. That was quick…thanks

Do the candidates that you support need to know any specifics about the size of the thumbnail you need, or should they just make one the same size as the Bates/Miller link? I doubt any of them want to be made to look like technological Neanderthals by Bates and Miller.
